Clinical Chemistry
Our Clinical Chemistry division covers a wide spectrum of different methods and analyses in all fields of medicine, including many emergency parameters. The range of analyses we offer in clinical chemistry spans approximately 330 different parameters, most of which are available continuously or at least daily. In all, our Clinical Chemistry division generates some 2.4 million analytical results a year (as at 2023). The division is made up of two departments: the Automated Laboratory and Special Analytics.
The Automated Laboratory mainly uses classic methods, such as photometry, turbidimetry, etc. It has a high level of automation and some of the largest and most modern automated laboratory equipment of its kind in Switzerland, which was newly introduced in 2021. By contrast, our Special Analytics department primarily conducts complex analyses with very low detection limits using state-of-the-art physical or mass spectrometry methods, such as LC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, etc.
